Jac Siemens stopped by the morning show and shared his thoughts on what's going to be an exciting but hectic 10 months leading up to the new election coming up in October.

Jac has been a part of the Steinbach City Council for 8 years now and there's a lot to do leading to the election. "This is a big year for us because of yesterday, we grew by 2795 acres with our annexation. That's great news. We're ready to plough the roads and all that, but, what we're not ready for is our community plan. Now we can start that and the zoning bylaws and so on, as we look forward to the next 30 years and how we make it apart of our community."

The council does a community plan every 5 years and this year they will have to include the annexation.

Jac knows it's going to be a bit of a stressful time as everyone starts to move forward. "The first big decision is if you're going to run again," Jac said with a smile. "Those decisions usually come around June or July. How much money you can spend and that. All of us are thinking about it and we hope others in our community are thinking about running as well."

The big questions are still to come and Jac knows one of the biggest. "Where is our city going? As a council, we look at it and this council has been together now for 8 years. There is a time for change and change will happen. It's good, it has to happen. Steinbach has changed. As much as it's changed, it's also stayed the same. The values are still there."
