A Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) assessment team arrived Wednesday in southeast Texas to explore early response needs for clean-up and rebuilding after Hurricane Harvey.

Binational Office Executive Director Kevin King spoke with us yesterday about the mission.

Hurricane Harvey, now Tropical Storm Harvey, continues to batter the southeast Texas coast and parts of Louisiana. We are just now coming to grips with the scope of devastation that’s happened.

The investigation will continue through Sunday, September 3rd, with decisions made afterward regarding how M-D-S can most effectively and efficiently help those in need.

You can help right now by making a monetary donation to the relief efforts to come at the MDS website.

The Mission of the La Grange Main Street program is to continue to organize, promote, and encourage appropriate design and economic revitalization of the community.
