Heather Chambers-Ewen is with the City of Steinbach and they are excited about an extra-special Canada Day celebration this year. It is Canada's 150 Birthday and everyone is putting in a little bit extra to honour that!

Start time is 10:00 a.m. at the Mennonite Heritage Village who are offering free admission all day long on July 1st. You can enjoy the museum. At 1:00 pm there will be flag raising ceremony.

The soccer park will come to life in the evening with music starting at 8:00 pm thanks to Summer Bounce. The freebies will start being handed out at about 9:00 pm. There will be cupcakes, glow sticks, pins, activity books and more!!

Of course, the fireworks are scheduled for 10:45 and it will be bigger and better than ever. Arch Angel is presenting the fireworks show and there are some great Canada 150 features in the show and the show usually runs about 13 minutes... for this year, they are promising over 20 minutes for this huge celebration!!

Hear about all of these plans from Heather herself. She told AM1250's Michelle Sawatzky all about it this morning. You can listen in on their conversation on the AM1250 Blog Page. https://www.steinbachonline.com/radio/am1250

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!
