Hundreds of people braved the rain Friday to take in the Pioneer Days parade in Steinbach. It was a parade to remember. The Pioneer Days parade in Steinbach went ahead Friday morning despite the pouring rain. After a delay of about half an hour the floats started to make their way down Main Street. Robert Izatt says rain or shine he wouldn't miss the parade. He comes to see the kids smile and of course the floats. Andrew Lambert says it's tradition and his kids come for the candy. Southeast Helping Hands food bank had a float in the parade for the first time. Ken Dyck says all things considered their "Feed The Need" food drive went well. He is happy with the turnout and looks for bigger and better things next year. During the parade they were able to nearly fill a half tonne truck and trailer with food. Anyone still wanting to donate non-perishable food items can do so by putting them in the bin at Clearspring Centre.
