Janis LeMay went out on a limb to get her nursing diploma.
She took the accelerated nursing program at Red River College and did it from her home computer.  She graduated Wednesday night.  LeMay was part of a pilot project where her classes were broadcast live on the internet and then there was a chat time where she could type in questions that were answered by the teacher.  She says it was difficult to have a good class discussion from your home, but she liked not having to commute everyday and this type of education worked well with her family life.  LeMay already has 2 jobs,  working part-time at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach and at the Menno Home in Grunthal.  Another graduate from Red River College Wednesday is Nathan Isaak of Niverville who received the Lieutenant Governor's medal for having the highest marks of any grad.
