October and November have the highest number of animal collisions in Manitoba. Spokesperson for MPI Brain Smiley says although startling you need to prepare yourself for impact by picturing what you would do.  He says the safest thing to do in that scenario is stay in your lane and avoid swerving because it can sometimes lead to roll-overs.  Smiley urges drivers to slow down, search the ditches for eye glare and be extra cautious during dawn and dusk.  It cost MPI and the rate payers $12 Million last year to pay for animal collisions.
