It appears Manitobans are taking advantage of the hot summer. Tracy Elbourne with Manitoba Conservation tells us reservations at provincial campgrounds are up 30 per cent over last year and on pace to match the 2003 record.  She says all provincial campgrounds are seeing strong numbers but especially Birds Hill Park, St. Malo, Grand Beach and Falcon Lake.  Meantime, in an effort to reduce the risk of forest fires, Manitoba Conservation has placed restrictions on where and when campers can build fires as well as what areas they are to stay away from.  Elbourne says campers are adhering to the rules and to date she has heard no negative feedback towards the restrictions.
