Canada Border Services Agency will be reducing the hours of operations at 2 ports as of October 1st.

Some changes are in store for border crossings at Piney and Snowflake.  Canada Border Services Agency is reducing the hours of operation at both ports to 9am to 5 pm.  Spokesperson Loretta Nyhus says low traffic volumes are behind the move.  Local motorists wishing to cross the border after 5pm will have to use the South Junction port of entry east of Piney or the Windygates crossing east of Snowflake.  One officer will be reassigned from Snowflake to Winkler and another officer from Piney will be transferred to South Junction where traffic volumes are much higher.
