The Steinbach R.C.M.P. detachment is making some changes.
Staff Sergeant Jake Hiebert appeared before city council Tuesday night to say he is splitting the detachment into separate urban and rural departments.  Eleven officers will be assigned to serve the city.  He says this will ensure Steinbach is getting the service it's paying for.  Deputy Mayor Dwight Reimer says council supports the move and looks forward to even better service in the future.  Meantime, Staff Sergeant Hiebert announced Joanne Ryal is coming back to the detachment to serve as a sergeant.  She was previously here as a corporal before transferring to Winnipeg.
