Full Obituary for Emily Klassen

Emily Klassen, age 71 of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away into the arms of her Saviour on November 30,2022. Emily was born July 6, 1951. She leaves to mourn her sister Lois Wiebe, sister-in-law Carole Klassen and several nieces and nephews    She was predeceased by her parents Kornie & Kathie Klassen, her siblings Kay Martens, Betty Peters &  Harry Klassen, brothers-in-law Jake Martens, Phil Wiebe & John Peters.

She grew up north-west of Elm Creek in the Wingham school area. When she was 10 years old, she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour. She enjoyed annually going to Winkler Bible Camp.  In May 1975, she began working at Cargill Grain and was there until 2000. She enjoyed attending Christian women’s club and loved volunteering in various areas. Emily loved to bake matrimonial date squares and often brought it to family gatherings and to share at Bible studies. Emily faithfully supported 2 little girls in Burundi through VOH Africa. She recalled a time when she realized her balance had become an issue, and the words ‘my grace is sufficient for you’ were given to her by the Lord. At that time Emily said indescribable peace came over her. Life has been very difficult for her as she dealt with the effects of Huntington’s disease. Today we rejoice and give thanks that the Lord has opened His arms and called her home to join Him. For the past two years, the staff at Meadowood Manor have been absolutely amazing as they have lovingly cared for her.

Emily’s favourite verse is Romans 12:12. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
