Hanover School Division, along with some other schools, have cancelled classes for today.

"All schools in the Hanover School Division are closed to students today, due to extreme cold weather. Teachers are expected to report for work at their school and follow the cold weather remote learning instructions."

The Hanover School Division policy for cancelling school due to extreme cold is as follows: 

"HSD will close schools for cold weather reasons when the recorded temperature at the Environment Canada Kleefeld Weather Station at 6:00am indicates -35𐩑 degrees Celsius or colder, or a Windchill of -45𐩑 degrees Celsius or colder."

Just after 6am, the tempurature hit minus 33 with a windchill of minus 45.
