Things are going to change for dog owners in the RM of La Broquerie.  Reeve Ken Mantie says it appears their current dog by-law is ineffective, especially after an incident where some dogs went onto a neighbours property and killed nearly 20 chickens.  The municipality's dog catcher say there's nothing he can do under the current by-law since he is not allowed onto private property.  Mantie says there's no point in having the by-law if it's not enforceable so council will re-visit the issue Wednesday night.  They will also be looking at charging the owner for the cost of picking up the dogs rather than the municipality footing the bill.  And council wants to examine exactly how many dogs people are allowed to have.
