Provencher MP Vic Toews has jumped headlong into his new cabinet post as president of the Treasury Board.

Toews says he is attending numerous briefing sessions to become acquainted with the job.  He explains it's his intention to make sure tax dollars are being spent wisely.  For example, Toews tells us approximately $90 billion is spent each year on A-based funding.  That means the cheques go out annually almost without question.  He wants to review those items line-by-line to make sure the spending is necessary.  Toews notes A-based funding has doubled in the past 6 years.
