It has been a tough stretch for the First Responders in Niverville.
Protective services chair John Funk says things started to go down in spring when they did not have enough staff to offer the service full time.  However thanks to the wonderful spirit in the group they decided to try and offer it on a part time basis throughout the summer and that worked well.  The First Responders have been covering some of the shifts over the summer but not all of them.  Fortunately Funk says they didn't get a lot of calls.  They still don't have the numbers to go full time in the fall so they are working together with South Eastman Health to try and provide the service to residents in some shape or form.
