Steinbach Regional Secondary School was evacuated Monday morning.

However, the Superintendent for Hanover School Division stresses that it is not because of additional threats.

SRSS has been one of the schools in the division to receive serious threats this month. This prompted the closure of that school on Friday. All of the threats to Hanover schools have been left on voicemail, connected to a U.S. number.

Hanover Superintendent Shelley Amos says that in consultation with the RCMP and out of an abundance of caution, it was determined that it would be prudent for a second sweep of Steinbach Regional Secondary School.

Given that the school is already closed to students today because of the cold weather, staff were reassigned to an alternate location so that the RCMP could complete their follow-up check of the facility.
