After two years of virtual celebration, the 2022 Steinbach Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards will see a return to an in-person event on Tuesday, September 27th .

Executive Director Michelle Bezditny says it’s important to celebrate Steinbach businesses in this way, by recognizing their success and community involvement. “We’re absolutely thrilled to host, especially coming out of these past two years,” enthuses Bezditny. “We know Steinbach is a unique city with a diverse economy, and the Steinbach Chamber’s Business Excellence Awards acknowledge the significant role these businesses play in making our community incredible.”

Bezditny says over 40 nominations have rolled in over the past few months. When nominations close, an independent selection committee carefully evaluates the submissions, then selects recipients in each category: Business of the Year, Community Involvement, Future Leader, and Non-Profit Excellence.

“The only one selected by way of public vote is the Customer Service Award,” adds Bezditny. “We've heard that it is an absolute honour to be nominated, and when we reflect on the number of nominations, we know these businesses are doing an exceptional job within our community.”

The evening will begin with an opportunity to network, followed by a State of the City address from Mayor Earl Funk and a message from Chamber President Christine Beaumont.

“Then we will flow into the formal portion of the evening, celebrating business excellence and presenting awards in a number of categories.”
