The Liberal candidate in the Steinbach riding says her party offers the only real alternative to voters in next week's provincial election. LeAmber Kensley says the Conservative government of the last three years has caused a lot of damage to the health care system.
She adds the Liberals have a plan to fix it. Kensley is from Winnipeg and in addition to being a mom, has worked in health care for the past 17 years in such areas as addiction counselling and rehabilitation counselling. Kensley says the Liberal Party has a well thought out platform and encourages people to take a close look at it.
"If people look at the policies and the actions of the parties, they'll see that the Liberal choice is the clear choice. The Liberals are a viable alternative. The NDP didn't do what they said they were going to do, the Conservatives haven't actually kept their promises either. We are committed to to serving the people who elect us."
Kensley says the fact this election is coming a year early with only a one month campaign, means she won't be able to spend as much time in the riding as she would like. But she intends to do her best to get the the message out.
"Unfortunately, with the election called a year early and against the fixed-date election law, I was not as prepared as I would have otherwise like to have been. But I'm doing my best to be out there, to have my name put forward and going into the community to say hello."
