It was a hectic weekend for Steinbach R.C.M.P. Corporal Bill Richards says they handled 101 calls for assistance. Among them was a two-vehicle mishap Monday afternoon near Sarto. The t-bone collision occurred around 4 pm, sending one person to hospital. No further details are available at this time. Another call involved an incident at the Double 'S' Truckstop at Richer. A driver had stopped to sleep and awoke to find 4 pallets of liquor, worth $38,000.00, missing from the trailer. Corporal Richards says the trailer had a special locking system and investigators suspect the culprits had inside information. The booze was being shipped from Alberta to Ontario. The investigation continues. |
