Retiring Steinbach Mayor Les Magnusson is supporting Dwight Reimer in the race to succeed him.
He says with at least 3 new councillors coming on board in the civic election later this month, council will require an experienced leader. Magnusson notes Reimer has 16 years experience compared to Chris Goertzen's 4 years.
Furthermore, he adds Reimer has an extensive background in working with the city's finances. Magnusson is also supporting the 3 incumbents running for council because of their experience. They are Art Rempel, Anne Friesen and Elbert Toews.
