Niverville has gotten a lot of added attention lately.
Ever since Earl Joey Wiebe escaped last week the town has been in the centre of news reports because Wiebe still has family in the community.  St. Pierre RCMP Staff Sergeant Jean Cormier spent Monday in Niverville and found that some people are taking this situation in stride while others are taking extra pre-cautionary measures.  He is impressed with the way the schools are handling the situation and the steps that are being taken to ensure the safety of the students.  Staff Sergeant Cormier suggests people in Niverville should take some necessary pre-cautions such as locking their doors.  He urges Wiebe to turn himself in so that this situation can be resolved in a peaceful way.
