On Friday night, tonnes of people gathered at A.D. Penner Park to watch the animated movie Sing up on a big inflatable screen.
Couples, families and more brought out their blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the movie under the stars. People started arriving at 7:00 to get the best spots, and the Steinbach Credit Union was there giving out water and popcorn and holding a raffle draw. Before the film started, two lucky winners got gift baskets filled with all kinds of goodies, including delicious movie snacks like chips and chocolate.
Speaking of delicious snacks, Dexter's Mini Donuts also had their truck set up right beside the hill, selling slushies and mini doughnuts to everyone who couldn't resist the smell (so almost everyone).
The movie started just after 8:30, when the sun was out of view enough to make the screen as clear as possible.
It ended up being a really fun evening for everyone who came out, as Cassandra Kornelson and the City of Steinbach put on a very fun way for families to begin wrapping up the summer season.
And despite negative forecasts earlier in the day, the rain held off until the movie was over.
