On the heels of Winnipeg Jets Development Camp, Steinbach Piston's goalie Matt Radomsky is still riding high after what he called "a crazy and fortunate experience."

Radomsky, a Winnipeg native, was asked to join the Winnipeg Jets Camp on Wednesday and he's still soaking in what was a terrific day. "It was crazy, it was eye-opening. The professional environment, to meet some guys who have been in the AHL, just getting to pick their brains was awesome. If guys were drafted, it's their second or third camps, so I just asked questions. I was very fortunate being able to attend."

It was an action-packed day of on-ice sessions but Radomsky did pick out a few details, "How much guys work and push themselves," Radomsky said from his home after an extensive training session of his own. "Probably the time I pushed myself the hardest I can. I got absolutely bagged for two hours. When you're at that level and guys are shooting at you while not really getting a break, I just kept pushing myself because this is an opportunity I may not get again or if I do, I'd have the experience. I wanted to give it my all and if something comes, that's great and if not, I gave it my all and had fun with it."

There wasn't a whole lot of talking with the goalie coaches but the Winnipeg native made sure to always be watching what was going on around him. "For me, just being at that camp, you pick up things without anyone saying anything. You look at the other goalies and see what level they're at. You watch the strides they've taken to get to the next level and you apply it to your game."

Looking back, Radomsky knows it may be one of the most important day's of his summer as it pertains to his confidence. "I've always been pretty confident in myself, dealing with the ups and downs but right now, I'm trying to stay even-keeled. Right now, I'm pretty excited, it still hasnt' worn off. The experience has made me even more excited for the upcoming season with Steinbach. I feel I'm going to have a strong season and build off it, especially having a good day at the development camp, my confidence just continues to grow."

Radomsky who is a die-hard Winnipeg Jets fan got to experience something few do, seeing a jersey with his favourite team's logo hanging in a stall, waiting for him to put it on.

For the 19-year-old, it's fuel to an already growing fire. "Putting on the Jets logo is something I've wanted to do ever since they've relocated when I was 11 or 12. I've had jersey's that we've bought at the store, but it doesn't even compare to the one they give you at camp. I'm at a loss for words. It definitely motivates me, I've always wanted to play in the NHL and getting this experience really motivates me to keep getting better in the next couple years."

Matt Radomsky didn't get to keep his Development Camp jersey but he did keep the knowledge, experience and thrill that will carry him to new heights in his hockey career.
