She won her first Provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts title 15 years ago at the St. James Civic Centre in Winnipeg.

That 2002 championship was the first of many memorable curling triumphs for Jennifer Jones.

"It was pretty amazing and actually I remember it quite vividly," said Jones after her 8-5 victory over Christine MacKay on day one of the 2017 Provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts at the Eric Coy Arena in Winnipeg.

"I dreamed of playing in a Scotties and I never knew if it would actually come true and then to win the provincial and go home and all my friends were there because it was in Winnipeg and everyone was so jacked up. It was pretty special."

Jones' first trip to the final took place in 2001 at the C.A, Nesbitt Arena in Thompson where she lost to Karen Young.

When Jones qualified for the final the following year at the Civic Centre - the outcome was much different.

"I've never needed motivation to be honest with you"” Jones said. "I haven't met a curling game that I don't want to win so that hasn't really been a problem. In Thompson I missed a bad shot actually probably to lose that game so I wanted to make sure that didn't happen again."

Jones has added six more Provincial Scotties titles to her resume since winning her first in 2002.

She won in Souris in 2005, Morris in 2007, Gimli in 2008, Portage in 2012, Stonewall in 2013 & Winkler in 2015.

There's also four Canadian championships, one World title as well as that Olympic gold medal she brought home from Sochi.

Jennifer Jones has enjoyed a remarkable curling career and it's far from over.
