The men's and women's Providence Pilots volleyball teams hold a perfect 4-0 record in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference.

On Thursday in Otterburne the Pilots men won over the Red River College Rebels, prevailing 25-12, 25-20, 25-11. On Friday the Pilots won in straight sets, beating Les Rouges de I'Universite de Saint-Boniface 25-22, 25-13, 25-21.

“We have been working on certain aspects of our defensive game lately and it was apparent to me that in Thursday’s match the guys had taken it to heart,” says head coach Scott Masterson. “On Friday we were very pleased to win in three sets as USB is a dangerous team that can get on a role if given the opportunity."

The Providence women also overcame Red River and USB last week, winning 3-1 on Thursday and 3-0 on Friday.

The Pilots will have a week off before hosting the Assiniboine Community College Courgars in back-to-back series next weekend. The women's team will open their round robin schedule on Thursday in the National Christian College Athletic Association National Championship.

Meanwhile, in basketball the Pilots men hosted Bemidji, MN’s Oak Park Christian College last weekend winning 97-90 on Friday and 75-61 on Saturday. Along with the women’s squad, they will resume the MCAC on Friday against the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers in Winnipeg before welcoming the Blazers to Otterburne on Saturday.
