Seven different goal scorers lead the Steinbach Pistons to their fourth straight on home ice as they defeated the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 7-1 on Saturday night.

It was a rematch of Wednesday nights tilt and like that game, it was the Pistons jumping out in front early when Austin Heidemann (7) scored on a beautiful wrist shot after driving through the slot to make it 1-0. Mark Taraschuk picked up the lone assist.

Just over three minutes later, Bradley Schoonbaert notched his team-leading 14th goal of the year from Drew Worrad and Will Koop.

Another quick goal for Steinbach as Brady Tatro (5) tipped home a Jaret Lalli point shot to push the lead to 3-0. Tanner Mole collected the secondary assist on the goal.

The Wolverines did get on the board at the midway point of the frame as James Maxwell scored to cut the lead to 3-1 heading into the second period.

Tanner Mole (3) scored early in the second period from Tatro and Easton Bennett to get Steinbach's three-goal lead back making it 4-1.

Before the period would end, while short-handed the Pistons dumped the puck into the Wolverines zone. Goaltender Curtis Stewart came out to play the puck but after some miscommunication, Easton Bennett ended up stealing the puck from the goalie, centred the puck for Tyson McConnell and he rifled it home for his 6th goal of the year, pushing Steinbach's lead to 5-1.

In the third, two Pistons found the back of the net for the first time with their new team.

Newly acquired Daniel McKitrick snapped home a perfect wrist shot for his 5th goal of the year and first as a Steinbach Piston. McKitrick's power-play goal was assisted by Heidemann and Taraschuk.

Former Wolverine Brendan Martin (2) scored his first as a Piston pushing the lead to 7-1. McConnell and Danny Pion had the assists on the final goal of the night for Steinbach.

For a third consecutive game, the Pistons scored 7 goals and for a second straight game, they defeated the Wolverines 7-1.

Matt Radomsky was solid having to make a number of tricky saves, finishing with 16 stops on the night in his 7th win of the year.

The power play went 1-3 while the penalty kill finished 3-3. The Pistons have outscored their opponents 21-2 over the past 3 games.

Easton Bennett was happy with the outcome and feels that his line has really gelled of late. "I think my line has been going. We have the mentality to keep things simple and we did that. We got to put the puck in the net as well." He also has noticed a leap in his gameplay. "Right away, the first thing I noticed was the pace was a little quicker, but I think I'm starting to adjust to things and find my hands a little bit. I realize I have more time then I think so I think my game has gotten better for sure."

The Pistons travel to Neepawa on Sunday, a place that was not so kind to them the last time they were there finishing with a 6-1 loss. Bennett knows he and his teammates will be ready to have a better showing. "I think all the guys wanna give them a little payback. We have to come out strong and give them what they deserve."
