The Providence Pilots volleyball and futsal teams together won four of six matches this past weekend.

In volleyball, the Pilots solidified their first-place position in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference. The women's team won 3-1 on Saturday against Saint-Boniface while the men's team took Les Rouges in straight sets.

“I’m happy with the direction our team is going and am looking forward to seeing more of the same in the coming weeks,” says women's head coach Kyle Guenther.

Caroline Seale celebrated her MCAC Female Athlete of the Week award.

Next up for the Providence volleyball squads are Saturday matches against the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers in Winnipeg.

In futsal, the men's and women's teams won over the Red River College Rebels on Friday before losing to Les Rouges on Saturday.

“We have a lot of character in our teams,” notes women’s head coach Tory Walker after Saturday’s defeat. “I expect we will respond and come out with some big performances against Assiniboine Community College next weekend.”
