Four matches and four wins for the Providence Pilots soccer teams this past weekend.

The men had a pair of 4-0 wins over Red River College and Universite de Saint-Boniface which helped them soar to first place in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference.

"This was a great weekend that allowed us to overtake the lead from Saint-Boniface," says head coach Joey Passi. "It was also great to rebound from our worst game of the year last week against North Central University. I'm proud of how our team reacted."

The women also did well over the weekend with a 1-1 draw against Red River College and a 1-0 win over Universite de Saint-Boniface.

“Saturday’s game took us into third place,” notes head coach Tory Walker. “Against Saint-Boniface we had the chance to enjoy home field and some great fall weather. “We played the type of soccer we know we can play and came out with a solid win.”

Meanwhile, the women's volleyball team has advanced to the final of the Lake Region Tournament.

The women won three of their four matches on the weekend.

"As we get closer to the NCCAA Regional Championship our team is definitely moving in the right direction," says head coach Kyle Guenther. "This was our third tournament of the year and every weekend we have played a higher quality of volleyball more consistently."

Setter Sam Bridle was also named National Christian College Athletic Association Student Athlete of the Week.
