Austin Duerksen threw a pair of touchdown passes and Jaxon Gruninger ran for over 100 yards and found the end zone twice as the Steinbach Regional Secondary School defeated the St. Paul's Crusaders 38-13 Wednesday at A. D. Penner Park.

Duerksen tossed a 21-yard touchdown pass to Tyson Greenham and a 40-yarder to Mason Hartung.

Defensive back Ryan Kincaid added a pick six for the Sabres who outscored the Crusaders 31-6 in the second half.

Bryson Friesen also had an interception while Alex Kornelson, Jayden Vogt and Jedrick Fransico recorded quarterback sacks.

Rylan Penner was good on all five convert attempts and booted a 21-yard field goal.

The SRSS has a win and a tie in the Winnipeg High School Football League's Junior Varsity Division.

The Sabres next game is Wednesday, September 26th against the Grant Park Pirates at A.D. Penner Park.
