The Winnipeg Jets three-game winning streak came to an end Tuesday night at Bell MTS Place.

Cam Atkinson, Nick Foligno, Jack Johnson and Lukas Sedlak scored in the middle period as the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated Winnipeg 5-2.

"We just never got it going in the second," said Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey. "A couple of mistakes obviously and we left Steve (Mason) out to dry. We just weren't right tonight. We weren't at the same level we've been at the last three nights and that's not what we want to look like. We'll turn the page and get back to that work and detail intensity that made us effective."

Zach Werenski also scored for the Blue Jackets who won their fourth straight and are off to their best start in franchise history.

Joel Armia and Kyle Connor, who was called up from the American Hockey League's Manitoba Moose on Monday, did the goal scoring for Winnipeg.

Armia's shorthander marker was the hockey club's third of the season.

Mason stopped 34 shots and is winless in three starts.

The Jets (3-3) will wrap up their three-game homestand Friday against the Minnesota Wild.
