A pair of Steinbach Pistons will be suiting up for Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge that runs from December 11th - 17th in Bonnyville, Alberta.

Steinbach native, defenseman Darby Gula and forward Will Koop were selected to the 22 man roster out of 60 players that recently attended training camp.

Koop, is second in MJHL Rookie scoring with 26 points in just 28 games, while Gula lead the Pistons with points from a defenseman with 19.

Along with Gula and Koop, Pistons equipment manager Riley Kosmolak is also in Alberta.

Forward Mack Graham went to camp but did not make the team. It's expected the 19 year old forward from Toronto will be in the lineup when the Pistons kick off a home and home with the Selkirk Steelers on Friday night in Steinbach. A big boost for the Pistons as Graham leads the team in scoring this season.

Gula and Koop are expected to miss the remaining 5 games the Pistons have to close out the 2016 calendar year. After the home and home with Selkirk Friday and Saturday, the MJHL will have their Showcase Weekend. The Pistons play the Virden Oil Capitals on Tuesday followed by the OCN Blizzard on Wednesday with both games set at the MTS Iceplex in Winnipeg. The final game before the Christmas break will pit the Pistons against the Oil Capitals in Steinbach.

Also representing the MJHL is Dauphin Kings forward Riese Gaber and as an assistant coach Marc Berry, the Kings Head Coach.
