Two coaches at Providence University College have been named Volleyball Manitoba Volunteers of the Year.

Kyle Guenther and Scott Masterson were presented with their awards last week Sunday at the 2017 Volleyball Manitoba Annual Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet. During the 2016 Manitoba Summer Games Guenther and Masterson co-chaired the volleyball tournament, the duo was also a part of the 2016 U17/U18 Girls and 2017 U17/U18 Boys Provincial Championships.

Masterson is the director of athletics at Providence and head coach of the Pilots men's volleyball team. He says, "I see our work in helping organize and run these high-level competitions as another way in which we can accomplish this goal [of investing in the development of youth sports in southeastern Manitoba]."

Meanwhile, Guenther oversees the Providence club program and coaches the Pilots women's team. He says he enjoys hosting events at Providence and being involved in other community events was an easy decision adding they weren't looking for recognition.
