The snowmobile season is wrapping up with a storm of activity here in southeastern Manitoba. Following a heavy snowfall a week ago, trails were very busy this past weekend. In fact, Kelly Wolkowski, manager of Ste. Anne CO-OP gas bar and restaurant at South Junction, says it may have been their busiest weekend of the winter.

Kelly Wolkowski of South Junction CO-OP says snowmobilers that have stopped in are very pleased with trail conditions this year."Oh, it was crazy busy. We had very little room in the restaurant, the gas pumps were going like crazy and it was great. The girls were really happy to be busy."

Wolkowski adds, overall, this winter was much better than last year for snowmobile traffic.

"It has been decent this winter. We've usually been very busy from Friday to Sunday with riders. Sometimes, during the week around lunch time, we would have quite a few in too. It was a lot better than last year."

She says riders were very pleased with trail conditions.

We received a similar report about the sled season from the gas station in Woodridge.

Wolkowski says the way the sledders were talking this past weekend, they are hoping to get in one more ride this coming weekend before putting their machines away for the summer.
