A tent trailer, owned by a family from Ste. Adolphe was overturned by extreme winds in the Interlake this last weekend.

Jocelyn Shott says they were attending a family reunion in Arborg when the storm hit early Saturday evening.

"Most of everyone who was left at the family reunion was sitting under this large framed tarp thing that they had set up. We were watching it come, the wind started blowing, then it died down and then all of a sudden boom, the wind picked up like crazy and one of the poles of the tent had blown up and out and hit somebody in the head and that was very chaotic for a while."

Shott says they retreated to the farmhouse on the property and watched the storm from there and they were very lucky they did.

"Where our camper was set up was behind a tree line so we did not know what had happened to our camper until after the storm had passed. After all of that and everything had died down and we knew everyone was ok, I went out to check and sure enough, our camper had blown over completely and was on it’s head."

Shott says though there were reports of tornadoes in the area, they didn’t see any. She notes most of the contents of the camper were salvageable but the trailer itself was damaged beyond repair.

Damage to the camper was extensive
