2018 marks 25th year of summer camp for The Catholic School of Evangelization (CSE) in St. Malo.

Associate Director Kevin Prada notes around 150 people came out to celebrate the 25-year milestone with CSE; a good reminder of the thousands of people across multiple generations whom the camp has influenced. The camp was founded in 1992 and now, over two decades later, Prada explains they have maintained their original vision to change lives.

“It's a privilege to see all the fruit that this program brings in kid’s lives. These kids are able to come to camp and have an unforgettable experience learning about God and learning about themselves and gaining friendships that, for many of them, will last a lifetime.”

The camp invites kids from all kinds of different families and backgrounds to enroll. Prada notes that one of the new initiatives CSE has taken this year is developing relationships with the indigenous community of Fort Alexander. 260 campers are already enrolled in the summer program and of those, 28 kids are from the Sagkeeng First Nation. Prada says he is excited to begin this partnership of learning and sharing experiences.

Says Prada, “We’re looking at these past 25 years at the experiences and growth we have had, and we are looking forward to the next 25 years and seeing where our ministry can grow and how we can continue to serve Manitoba's young people.”

Prada himself was once a camper at CSE. He commends the camp for the impact its had on him and countless others and is excited to keep moving forward.
