Participants of the sixth annual CEO Sleepout had a cold, rainy night on Thursday at K.R. Barkman Park.

Rod Parmer represented Clearview Co-op at the sleepout and says it was his first time taking part in the event. He says he wanted to experience what it is like to be in that position and notes he now has an appreciation for how hard it is to sleep out in the elements on a tough night like that.

"I did make it through to the morning and I was quite proud of myself for even doing that. I also woke up this morning and thought ‘if I had to do this another night, back to back, that gets tough’ because you do it here for one night that is one thing, and you are doing it for a cause but if that is where you find yourself, that is just where you are in life right now, it is very difficult."

Today House Board Member Curtis Krahn says this was the rainiest CEO Sleepout they have ever had. He notes because of the poor weather, fewer people stayed for the entire night than in years past.

"We had a couple of people go to the Grace Church to sleep there, we had a couple of people sleep in their cars and we had a lot of people who were under the gazebo here, but the good news about the CEO Sleepout is that we have so far raised $46,000 and that is the lion’s share of our budget for the year."

Krahn thanks everyone who was involved for their donations.
