The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce welcomed the news about the province’s recently announced reopening plan.

Reached for comment on Thursday, Chamber Executive Director Michelle Bezditny said she expects member-businesses to receive the announcement positively.

“The initial take is that of excitement. Together with the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce, we've been advocating on behalf of businesses for a reopening plan, and we're really excited to hear the plan was launched and announced today.”

"What that does is it allows the opportunity for our Chamber members and our business community to connect directly with the provincial policymakers and just getting some expert advice from Doctor Curtis Krahn regarding the entire vaccination process.”

Bezditny goes on to say that they are even looking further down the road to pushing through with Burger Days, a popular event among local diners.

“Well, Burger Days is a go. It's happening September 11th to 18th. And the nice thing about burger days and the restaurants who participate is the public can do curbside. We are very well versed in what curbside and delivery looks like, so Burger Days is going to happen in our community.”
