A cougar was spotted Friday morning near Marchand.
Rachel Schmidtke says she and her husband Lee were out looking for their house cat in a rural residential area just northeast of the community when they spotted the large cat in the bush.
She adds they have seen large tracks near their home and suspected a cougar was in the area and today's sighting confirms it.
