As the 52nd Annual Red Rock Cyclathon nears, the Red Rock Bible Camp coordinator says, some things will look the same and some things will look different than in years past.

After needing to make changes to last year's Cyclathon, Emma Beardy says, they will once again be adjusting, as needed, to make the ride a safe fundraiser for everyone involved.

Participants will be asked to take initiative and complete their proposed goal of however many kilometres they will be riding for Red Rock, and they'll have the entire month of June to do it. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, participants will be asked to ride only with people from their own households or remain physically distanced from those who are not in your household.

New this year, participants are not limited to just biking. They are encouraging all types of outdoor physical activity, from rollerblading, longboarding and walking or you may choose to switch it up every day. Beardy feels that because spending time outside and moving your body is such a huge aspect of summer camp, what better way to support Red Rock. Register by May 16 to get an official “Cyclathon 52 Ride Where You Are” T-shirt.

Then on weekends, Beary says, they are still considering different options as it depends on the number of staff they’ll have on hand. She says the waterfront will definitely be the main attraction along with their trails. The camp has mountain bikes available for guests, though there will be no guided excursions on Saturdays and Sundays.
