Steinbach emergency crews were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision just before two o'clock Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred about one mile south of Steinbach on Highway 12. Assistant Deputy Fire Chief Mike Penner explains.

"We had two vehicles traveling south on 12 and the first vehicle, which was a small Mazda car, was going to turn into a driveway and was rear-ended by a jeep that was also traveling south."

Penner says slippery road conditions were probably not a factor but notes it was most likely just driver error. The Jeep was driven away and the smaller car was pulled out of the ditched and towed away. Both lanes of traffic were kept open as crews cleared the scene and Penner adds there were no injuries.
