A woman is facing a big speeding ticket after being caught Sunday afternoon on the Trans-Canada Highway near Dufresne.

RCMP say shortly after 2:30 p.m., a mini-van went through their radar at 177 kilometres per hour. The driver told police she was so excited to get her three kids and their new puppies home and thought she was doing only 140.

A 36-year-old female from Winnipeg was assessed a fine of $1,058 and was given a serious offence notice with a requirement for a licence review with Manitoba Public Insurance.
