Valentine's Day is only a few days away, and why not get that loving feeling by walking on rose petals.

You can do just that when you walk on the sidewalk in front of Heier Designs Florist in Steinbach.

Owner Wendy Heier says, “so many people have never been able to walk across rose petals, and we want everyone to be able to have that experience.”

Heier says many children walk to school in the morning and pick them up, put them in their pockets and give them to their teachers. “It's fun, and it's so exciting during wedding season when they come to pick up their flowers, or just for everyday. People say it's pretty cool because maybe it's something they didn't get to do when they got married, but now they get to.”

Heier adds, Valentine's Day is the holiday of admiration and for expressing love. “It's fun and flirty, flowers are romance. What about the first time you got flowers when you were being courted, or one of your first dates when someone gave you a single rose, there are so many memories associated with flowers that it's such a great way to bring that back and relive it.”
