A spokesperson for Manitoba Hydro says their proposed route for the Manitoba-Minnesota Hydro Transmission Line is not a decision they took lightly.

The Clean Environment Commission is holding public hearings May 25th and 27th in La Broquerie.

Bruce Owen says they took numerous perspectives into account over the past four years while developing a preferred route for the project. He notes this included ongoing engagement with landowners, Indigenous communities and organizations and other stakeholder groups.

The Clean Environment Commission will review the evidence and make a decision on the route presented.
