A car and a pickup truck collided Thursday evening just northwest of Marchand. The La Broquerie fire department got the alarm just before 6:30 p.m. for the intersection of Martel Road and Grenier Bay where a smaller car had t-boned a three-quarter ton truck. The 17-year-old female driver of the car, from Steinbach, and a 17-year-old male passenger were transported to hospital as a precaution. Fire Chief Alain Nadeau says they have minor injuries.

"In the small car, the airbags went off so there's always injuries with airbags, depending on the crash. The injuries were to the hands and face, minor injuries."

The 21-year-old male driver of the truck was not hurt.

RCMP say no charges will be laid.

Nadeau notes that is a blind corner.

"There is kind of a blind spot with branches that should be cleaned up."
