The RM La Broquerie has purchased eight acres of land between the La Verendrye Golf Course and the community of La Broquerie.

Reeve Lewis Weiss says this is a section of land that has been on the municipalities radar for a while.

"We had purchased two parcels east of the lagoon in the past and this was one piece that was kind of left, It is an area where we very likely have to put our big line to supply our phase two tertiary project and by owning it, obviously we don’t need any permission, nor would there be any costs for going on the property."

The land was purchased for $180,000 and Weiss says council was pleased with the price. He notes before the land became available for purchase council wasn’t sure how they were going to connect the existing Lagoon with the lagoon tertiary project to the south.
