The RM of La Broquerie is hoping to hear back from the province soon on road upgrade funding.

Reeve Lewis Weiss says both Carriere Road and Gerard-Tetrault Road are on the list of projects they're hoping to achieve this year.

"Gerard-Tetrault, part of it is surfaced already so it would be from there and then continue on off PR 210. As well as Carriere Road for one mile, the second mile south of Highway 52."

Weiss says there's always a bit of a fear the grant won't be coming, especially with the debt handed down to the provincial government.

"Infrastructure is very important and the province knows that. So, at the same time, they got handed down quite a large debt and they are dealing with it the way they decide to deal with it."

He adds they're hoping to hear back from the province in early May. Weiss says, if they don't get the provincial funding, it won't fit into the budget to pay for these road upgrades in their entirety along with the other projects they have for this year.
