The Rural Municipalities of La Broquerie and Ste. Anne are looking to continue reconstruction on Loewen Boulevard (Road 36N) next year.

La Broquerie Reeve Lewis Weiss says Loewen Boulevard between Idawood Lane and Cottonwood Drive was upgraded in 2015 with Ste. Anne and they would like to continue this project from Cottonwood Drive To Road 36E, just east of Herschfeld Road.

"There's a bit over a mile for sure that does need some attention," notes Weiss. "We have spoken with Ste. Anne about it. We both are planning to do some repair or address the road this fall, in 2018, which will be good."

Ste. Anne Reeve Art Bergmann says the public works supervisors in the RM of Ste. Anne and La Broquerie are working together to come up with options and preferred recommendations for both councils to look over and discuss.

Weiss adds the kind of work that can be done will be dependent on cost adding roads and drainage seem to be never-ending projects in a municipality.

"I know Carriere Road, I have a lot of people coming to me with questions about, so that as well [is on a priority list]. There's actually quite a few all around the municipality that are up for the contest."

He says the last portion of Loewen Boulevard between Road 36E and Old Tom Road is part of the RM of Hanover and the City of Steinbach.
