The owner of Evolve Green in Marchand is this year's recipient of the 'Just Watch Me' video contest.

The contest is run by the Community Futures organization which helps rural entrepreneurs with disabilities pursue their business goals by providing business advice, training, mentorship and access to repayable business loans. The video contest is designed to help tell the stories of these entrepreneurs.

Lorena Mitchell, President of Evolve Green in Marchand is the winner of this year's contest. Mitchell explains she has suffered from myasthenia gravis, a chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disease that causes weakness in the skeletal muscles, which are responsible for breathing and moving parts of the body, since birth.

"It does create some challenges but what it does mean is that there are some challenges and I've been able to overcome every single one of them."

Evolve Green designs and installs renewable energy systems throughout Canada and Mitchell says it was a great feeling to know that she had won adding she's so passionate about her job.

"You know, it's always really nice when you work hard at something for a long time to just be recognized, it's really nice. It's really about finding passion. I didn't choose this profession because I have ability issues, I chose this profession because I love it and I'm passionate about what I do. I love renewable energy, I love the environment work, For me, it was just a natural fit."

Mitchell hopes her video can inspire others with similar conditions like hers to not give up but stay positive and know that they can overcome any challenge that faces them.
