Methamphetamine was among the items found in a vehicle during a check stop on Highway 1 at Provincial Road 207.

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, Manitoba RCMP Traffic Services, along with members of St. Pierre and Oakbank RCMP, stopped a vehicle and found 211 grams of methamphetamine, an imitation firearm, and drug paraphernalia. RCMP add the driver of the vehicle also had a suspended driver's license.

As a result, 35-year-old Wilfred Galvin from Lacombe, Alberta has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Failure to Comply with a Probation Order and four counts of Failure to Comply with a Recognizance.

Galvin was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear in provincial court Monday.

RCMP add the investigation is ongoing.
