Operation Red Nose kicks off Friday night with a full roster of volunteers.

Communication Officer, Mariette Kirouac says the response from volunteers has been good, but they do need a few more volunteers for the night of December 26 and New Year's Eve.

Operation Red Nose will provide safe rides home to La Broquerie and Steinbach residents every Friday and Saturday night in December. Kirouac emphasizes that anyone who does not feel fit to drive is welcome to call for an Operation Red Nose ride home. That means if it's a really late night at a family gathering and you're very tired, or you don't see well at night, or road conditions are bad – whatever the reason, including having had a few drinks, you can call for a ride home.

Operation Red Nose trained volunteers will drive both you and your vehicle home, and there is no charge. So if you're planning to head out any Friday or Saturday in December, you are also welcomed to pre-book your ride home by calling the Operation Red Nose number  204-424-9555.
