A resident on Kokomo Lane in the RM of La Broquerie has had an interesting sight out his window since Tuesday morning.

Ross Davies says he was sitting at his computer Tuesday morning and noticed a peacock sitting on his yard.

"Then my wife came out and she said, well, there's something in the yard. I took a look and it was a peacock. It's just been hanging around, going around the yard. Then I got a picture of it and opened the front door, he flew up on the roof and I thought he had gone, but now I see he's back."

Davies notes he has been living in his house since 1992 and this is the first time he has ever seen a peacock.

"I was kind of hoping if there was somebody around who was keeping him for a pet."

Manitoba Conservation has noted these non-native exotic fowl are kept by people as pets or livestock and sometimes escape.

As of Wednesday Davies says the bird was still wandering around his yard.
